Purple haze

When I was a kid, my favourite colour was purple. I still like purple, in it's various shades and nuances. Subtle, smoky brown-purples, soft blue-purples and pretty pink-purples are the ones I like the most.

Hi Catherine,
I love this post! My niece is obsessed with all things purple. She insisted on taking off her shoes and socks while we were in a restaurant yesterday to show me her sparkly purple toenails. :)
I was going to email to ask you a question but decided to post here instead. I own a white (exterior) house I cannot paint it a colour (3 stories, budget, etc.). What would you suggest as a trim colour? Have you seen any nice images? I have all the trim white currently...I'm not sure if I like it or not. The front door is a whole other issue!
Thanks,
Andrea

Catherine,
My sweet mother's favorite color was purple. This brought back a flood of sweet memories of her. Thanks.
All of the photos are just beautiful. Wish I had a bite of the grape ice cream!

I am in love with the 4th picture down. I could definitely live in this room. The colors are so cool and inviting. I love the slight metallic color next to the muted purple.

I'm a huge fan of purple, ideally in muted/plum/aubergine shades.
Megan Lee, I'm with you on that fourth picture, it's just gorgeous and I would move in in a heartbeat.

Hi Catherine,

You have excelled yourself with a lovely post, all gorgeous images.
My daughter loves purple but apart from lavender and flowers, I have never really been a fan.
You have made me change my mind.

What a great post!!! I love purple, it's definitely my favourite colour :) I had a purple lounge room a while back...accessories only (it was a rental)...a lavender fake fur rug (much nicer than it probably sounds), an amethyst throw and amethyst and white fake fur cushions. It looked very pretty and feminine and this post has made me miss it :)

Gorgeous post Catherine. I love those flirty skirts and the dusty roses but the ice cream is a clever addition to this lovely medley. Julie
