I'm no gardener. I'm not one of those people who finds it therapeutic and rewarding. I find it backbreaking and.....grotty!
But just because I don't love gardening doesn't mean I don't love gardens. My mum created a beautiful garden in the home I grew up in and I loved just being in it and soaking up the beauty.
My own poor garden is a little bit bedraggled and unloved. And it is also small. I love the idea of having a garden big enough to divide it into 'rooms', suggested by a garden gate or an archway. It provides a little mystery and romance, 'secret garden' style. I also love the idea of a gardener!
Hope you enjoy these garden rooms.

I love the gates and arches. They create a "welcome" to a wonderful garden that beckons beyond.
Fabulous garden photos.
I'm the same way - love admiring a beautiful garden, hate getting too close to worms and dirt under my nails. But these pictures are gorgeous, and make me think twice about starting my own garden.
I hate gardening as well but adore gardens! I just visited the most glorious botanical garden yesterday and wished it were mine :). Beautiful photos.
love them all!
Hi!
The gardens are beautiful.I love gardens too. Thanks for visiting and comments on the blog.
I love the gates and the 'secret garden' idea.
I'm not a fan of gardening either....I go out with the best of intentions and 5 minutes later decided I've sweated enough for one day. ;)
The hedgerows forming a fence are so romantic.
I love gardens so much, but I hate getting dirty too! all I do is water it {when I remember}. those images are glorious! xo
I wish I had the desire and the ability to make a garden like some of these! It must be magical to spend an evening with friends in a little garden nook :)
Thanks for the inspiration - we're redoing our garden at this very moment! How are things going? I'm finally having some time for blogging again, and it's great to be back :)
Big hug!
Arches and gates. Love them!
gorgeous photographs!!
Gates, arches, vines... oh my! Love, love, love these photos. I don't like the backbreaking parts, but I do love gardening. That last photo sent me to the moon. It's everything I love. YUM! Thanks for the gorgeous tour.
xo Isa
I'm with you Catherine! I would love a beautiful garden but I would need a gardener to go with it! I just love these images with the garden doors and gates...fabulous! Tracey xx
All the gardens are so beautiful.
You do need to be in the mood and it is always inspiring to see other lovely gardens to make you want to get out there.
I got out yesterday and planted a few plants and will share a post soon.
Have a great weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Yep me too. Love all these images. A place to dream. I love being in a beautiful garden but not really into gardening. I don;t have a yard at present and really miss it. It is wonderful how calming nature can be and help you to get focus. Even just a patch of grass!!Beautiful relaxing post! x Julie
Thank you Catherine! These photos are just what I need right at this moment - no more excuses, I'm off outside to garden. Have a lovely weekend. Leigh
Wow, they're lovely! For some reason, the last photo makes me want to see what's through the gate......
Oh, I'm the same. I love to sit in a beautiful garden, visit larger gardens, and have even enjoyed flower shows, but I just can't summon up the energy for the (fairly constant) love and upkeep they need.
Beautiful pictures you've found here.
you are pulling at my heart strings. Hope you have a great weekend and birthday. Love, Heidi
Lovely garden rooms! Thanks for sharing!
What awesome pictures....Beautiful
I enjoyed reading your blog today.
It is so much fun making new blog friends.
Hope you will stop by for a visit.
These are all so pretty! Love gardens...I wish I had one! Daisy~
Thanks for the inspiration. Can't wait to get my hands dirty again come spring. Annie
Such beautiful gardens. I see my yard looking all pretty with big planned garden spaces, too. But alas, I am also not a gardener. If only I could afford the luxury of hiring someone to bring it all to life for me.
What a beautiful garden! I'm with you on the gardening and also have to go to my mom's to enjoy one. I tried hydrangeas last year and they became beautiful dried flowers! I'm done wasting my money and will just continue enjoying other's hard work.
gorgeous images Catherine... and i too love the idea of a gardener....
so, so lovely! arches made of blossoms are some of the best things about summer
