Your next weekend project?

Got itchy fingers this weekend? Feel like doing something creative? How about making this sweet little coat rack?

It is made from brand new rulers/yardsticks. This project looks simple enough for even me to tackle!

I love the antique finish they've applied to make the coat rack look old and timeworn.

Voila!
I think it would look absolutely fabulous in a study/craft room - perhaps a slightly narrower version - with these lovely little baskets (below) hanging from the hooks, filled with ribbons and balls of string.

For instructions on how to make this clever little coat rack, see here.
I'm so looking forward to this weekend. A time to get my house in order (currently looking like a bomb has hit it), do a little shopping, catch up with friends, and spend time with my beautiful mum - my rock, my confidante, my biggest fan.
Happy mothers day to all those celebrating it this weekend!

Best wishes,

What a great idea! I've been collecting old yardsticks for years. Haven't really known what to do with them until now. Grazi!

Another gorgeous idea Catherine, you really should write a book, it would be a brilliant compilation of the best of Simply Natural! Wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day. Claire :-)

What a cute idea! I love it! :) I think this weekend I will be finishing up painting my son's dresser and putting the new hardware on. It's been a few months since I started it, and it will be nice to finally have it finished. Next up, I think I will be painting the bathroom cabinets. Should keep me busy for a little while. Hope you have a lovely Mother's Day. :) Beth.

that's very original and cute. I like the idea of a weekend project, always things I want to create or work on, just with a 3 year old not always very practical.... ;-)
