Tiny little drawers

On my regular trawls through antique shops and auctions, I keep my eye out for old books, perfume bottles, a little white cupboard that I can paint white and old signs. And if I came across one of these beauties, I would snap that up too!
Some of these were originally apothecary cabinets, but some of them I can only hazard a guess as to what their original purpose was - maybe they were used in a haberdashery store, or perhaps a cabinet maker's workshop for holding nails and screws. Today, I think I could put one to good use holding all my new-found crafty bits and bobs.
The one in the first image is my favourite. I just want reach into this photo and transfer this cabinet, and all the things artfully arranged on top, to my home office.
Best wishes,

I love small square drawers - as much for the history as anything else. Great pics Catherine, xv.

I'm always on the lookout for an old card catalog or mail organizer, because I'd love to have all those tiny drawers to hold my tiny art supplies. Lovely.

Catherine your posts are so incredibly stunning time after time -so jealous!
My sister found a set of this ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!?!, incredible find, especially after my trip to Melbourne recently and seeing them in fantastic vintage shops with very expensive price tags!

I read the post about your beautiful boy, hope things are going well and believe it or not (and dont let this freak you out too much!) - I think of you often and hope there are more 'funnie's than 'fury' for you each day xx

i love apothecary tables. When I lived in Indiana I had a friend make me one that I use as a coffee table. Inside the drawers I store my collection of foreign films and some other media type stuff. love all the different kinds you have here today.

If you go off the beaten tourist track in Singapore & HK & into the old Chinatown areas, you see some amazing examples of these cabinets in the Chinese Herbalist shops. Some of them are positively breathtaking, so old & treasured. Wouldn't it be fantastic to get hold of one & all the associated aromas that the wooden drawers would hold!

The first ones for me too Catherine. Im loving the tub with white Hydrangeas too. I am actually still waiting for Dad to bring me his set of 16 little drawers that have a shabby green paint finish from his tool shed.

Oh, we have a local 2nd hand dealer here who has about 5 soda syphons for $25each. Thought of you straight away.
