Is this Germany's answer to Ikea?

These pictures are from German furniture and homewares company Car Mobel.

All furniture comes flat-packed and is marketed as good value for money - sound familiar?
I'm loving the clean, simple lines, the white painted furniture, and the sweet, fresh pops of colour.

I'm wishing they had an outlet or ten in Australia!
Best wishes,

Oh this is SO beautiful! This is my style. I adore those colorful little mattresses! Wish they had an outlet or 10 in Argentina too!

I absolutely love the hits of colour (especially purple) in the mostly-white rooms. This is what I'm planning to do in my dining room... some of these pics have just gone into my inspiration folder :-)

Very exciting. It will likely be years before we see this in Canada!

Thanks for all your thoughts on my latest post. Like you, I try to be patient because I love beautiful things and like to hold out for them, but shopping here is truly awful compared to the last city I lived in. There are no good boutiques here and the big furniture stores will only order from catalogue for you and you cannot get on approval. That is why we tend to pick up antiques where we see them.

Otherwise I will be waiting literally forever!

I liked your comment about false economy when you buy something you don't love, as you will replace it later. An excellent point!

Oh, wow! Beautiful indeed--much more feminine than ikea. Wish we had one here.

Wonderful find Catherine - maybe us Aussies could all dob in together & fill a container to save on individual freight charges! And being flat-pack just think how much we could cram into the space.

I love that little wisteria corner, (last picture), what a wonderful spot for a cup of tea and a magazine moment.

This looks really nice... who knows, if they're successful, I'm sure they'll spread!
